In my top 5 sushi spots! The nigiri is fresh and the rolls are filled with flavor. Place is small so expect a wait at dinner time. The salmon bomb roll is light and refreshing The Roy's special is a mouthful, but if you're looking for a fried rolll- it's my go to! Again, cannot go wrong with their nigiri! So good!

I'm a local and a regular at Riki Sushi. They are always busy, most people tend to get a bit annoyed at the wait but it's a small locally owned location and the food is well worth it. Most of the time I get a basic roll with some sake and an appetizer. It really just depends on my mood and preference but I've tried tons of their fish. It's always fresh and tasty.

My wife and I came to Riki back in March 2020 on one of our first dates. Since then, we have been regulars here. Riki has been a place for her and I to unwind, to laugh, and to enjoy. As recently as Thursday, 25 April 2024, the food was amazing (best spicy garlic edamame I've had here!) we enjoy the Sapporo and hot sake, per usual. And then the delectable sushi rolls. We were served by Dise and Tin, who were very gracious and attentive. They made the experience wonderful even with the hustle of the night with all the patrons. We appreciate them so much. Overall, Riki is worth your time. Come by and check it out.

UPDATE after coming back multiple times: We LOVE love love Riki sushi! It is our go to sushi place in San Diego. The people are so kind, responsive to feedback and will go out of their way to make you comfortable and enjoy the experience. The food is delicious and there are options both for seafood eaters and vegetarian or those who eat chicken/beef (bowls, soups). Best veggie sushi options I've seen, even throughout California. One of our favorite things is the option to order FRESH wasabi (kizami). The portions are generous and the price is very reasonable for sushi in San Diego. The place is not too large so seating is sometimes limited but they move quickly and we almost never have an issue getting a table. Check out our photos for some of the dishes. We are very loyal to Riki sushi and recommend it to others! Appreciate the staff and we will keep coming back!

We felt like sushi but didn't know if any places nearby so decided to stop here. Wow we were so pleased! Everything we had was tasty! Firstly, my fiancé is VERY picky about his sushi (lived in Japan for sometime) and was so impressed. Everything was fresh and very high quality. Secondly, I don't like fish (I know! I'm crazy) so I always go for avocado rolls and thankfully this place has PLENTY of chicken options but also a lot of vegetarian rolls! Their Hey, Sweetie roll was FANTASTIC. It was sweet potato, cream cheese, avocado and eel sauce. Their simple avocado roll was also great. Special shout out to Tin, our server! Very fast and friendly service. This place is a quaint little place and we will definitely be back! Parking is what it is. It's north park so either get ready to try and find street parking (oof that will take a second) or go to the large parking garage on 30th/University.

Service was good. The waiter sat us down a couple minutes after walking in. The food portions were just right and everything had a good taste. The teriyaki sauce was missing some flavor to it but the rolls were tasty with some spicy mayo on the side. The ambiance was calm & not too busy. I would recommend this place. I did 4 stars because the waiter did take a bit to come by to take our order so we had to call her over & let her know we were ready.

I quite like this sushi joint. The prices are reasonable, the rolls are good and it's in a convenient neighborhood. They do get crowded at dinner time, especially on the weekends, but I've never had to wait for more than 20 minutes. All the rolls that I've had are good. We usually get 1-2 that we always get and try 1-2 things that sound interesting that day. This time, we tried the Quatro Futomaki, which was on the specials board (not listed on the menu) and the soft shell crab. I liked the Quatro Futomaki; it's a rolled up of 4 different fish, served with Kizami wasabi (yesssss! freakin love this!). The soft shell crab was also great! It was nicely battered and fried, but didn't feel that greasy. I liked that they came out slightly pumped up, whereas in many places they tend to be deflated, and when you bit into it, you get soft fluffy crab meat into your mouth. I highly recommend this dish if you like crabs. It can be very, very loud in here. It may be the layout or the structure, but it always feels like voices are enhanced inside and when you have a table of slightly intoxicated patrons, well, it can feel like you're eating in front of a loud speaker.
